Weyres Offshore Delivers Winches for Big Bubble Curtain Systems to Boskalis

Weyres Offshore (Bernhard Weyres GmbH) has delivered its specially developed winches for Big Bubble Curtain systems to Boskalis. These winches are a central component of modern compressed air systems used for underwater noise reduction during piling works for the construction of offshore wind farms.
The winches enable the simultaneous deployment of multiple hose rings under pressure—without twisting or collapsing—and protect the air outlets from foreign objects. Ballast chains facilitate spooling, while a modular mounting frame allows quick integration on various types of vessels. The system has proven itself on numerous offshore projects and is considered the standard for efficient and environmental friendly underwater noise mitigation.
The two companies share a long-standing, successful collaboration on offshore projects worldwide. With the handover of the winches, this partnership reaches a new level: the systems will now be operated directly by Boskalis, while Weyres Offshore continues to serve as a technical service partner.
